Zindagi Zindagi….

Since I heared this song from Yuvvraaj, Can’t stop listening to it… Its been goin on a repeat mode on my ipod and the mesmerizing voice of Srinivaas flowing through the Copper Wires of my headphones and reaching my year… Starts off like a Hariharan Ghazal, but continued with lot of synth and guitars usage taking it away from a ghazal and dropping it off before reaching a slow melody number… I termed it “Ghazal on Synth!”.

Loved the way one of the fellow bloggers reviewed this one… “Zindagi is one song that reminds you of everything in your life that you have carefully tried to forget . It is not easy to forget things and songs like Zindagi strongly reminds of  the pathos in your life. With every passing note the song drills into your veins and you shudder softly as memories flow out tremendously . The magic of A.R.Rahman is clearly felt in this song.” You can read the complete review of the album here.

And It would have been difficult for me to understand the complete song if Waism from arrahmanfans.com would not have translated it so beautifully…. Here goes the translation.

Zindagi Zindagi, kya kami reh gayi?
-[Life O’ Life, what is missing?]
Aankh ki kor mein…
-[Corner of the eye…]
Aankh ki kor mein, kyon nami reh gayi?
-[Why is the corner of the eye moist?]

Zindagi Zindagi, kya kami reh gayi?
-[Life O’ Life, what is missing?]
Aankh ki kor mein, kyon nami reh gayi?
-[Why is the corner of the eye moist?]
Tu kahan kho gayi?
-[Where did you get lost?]
Tu kahan kho gayi?
-[Where did you get lost?]
Koi aaya nahin
-[Nobody came!]
Do-peher ho gayi
-[Half of the day(life) has passed]
Koi aaya nahin
-[And nobody came!]
Zindagi Zindagi
-[Life O’ Life]

Din aaye, din jaaye
-[Days come, days go]
Sadiyaan bhi gin aaye
-[Eons have goneby counting]
Sadiyaan re…
-[Eons…]
Tanhayee lipti hai…
-[Engulfed in loneliness…]
Lipti hai saansoun ki
-[Engulfed in the loneliness of breathing]
Rasiya re…
-[O dear one (lover)…]
Tere bina badi pyasi hai
-[Without you, they’re very thirsty]
Tere bina hai pyasi re
-[Without you, they’re thirsty]
Nainoun ki do saakhiyan re
-[The two; pair of eyes]
Tanha re…
-[Lonely…]
Main tanha re
-[I am lonely]

Zindagi Zindagi, kya kami reh gayi?
-[Life O’ Life, what is missing?]
Aankh ki kor mein, kyon nami reh gayi?
-[Why is the corner of the eye moist?]
Zindagi Zindagi
-[Life O’ Life]

Subah ka kohra hai
-[There is the fog of morning]
Sham ki dhool hai
-[There is the dust of evening]
Tanhayee hai
-[There is the loneliness]
Raat bhi sard hai
-[The night is also cold]
Dard hi dard hai
-[There is the continuous pain]
Ruswayee hai
-[There is the separation/humiliation]
Kaise katein?
-[How will this pass?]
Saansein uljhi hain
-[Breathing is complicated]
Raatein badi jhulsi jhulsi hain
-[The nights are very slow]
Naina, kori sadiyaan re
-[Eyes- empty for eons]
Tanha re
-[Lonely…]
Main tanha re
-[I am lonely]

Zindagi Zindagi, kya kami reh gayi?
-[Life O’ Life, what is missing?]
Aankh ki kor mein, kyon nami reh gayi?
-[Why is the corner of the eye moist?]

Zindagi Zindagi, kya kami reh gayi?

Cellphone battery saving tips…

I thought of writing this, because this is one issue that i face with my cellphone, low battery!

Follow this tips and pump out more from your battery…

  1. Turn off the 3G mode ( if you have one ), we know its of no use in India.
  2. Whenever you are listening to music, get to the stand by mode of the phone, i.e. to your phone desktop. This would save out a lot of processing which goes in during the music mode like scrolling the song name ( oh yes! it takes up a lot of your processing power to do this! ) etc.
  3. Turn off the Equalizer : If there is less power in your battery, go turn your equalizers off, this would again save in a lot of processing power and thus the charge would last longer.
  4. Turn off Bluetooth and Wifi : Turn them off when you are not using it, when they are on, they would waste up the battery charge in looking for Wifi Access Points or other bluetooth devices.
  5. Disable Animated Wallpapers or Screensavers
  6. Disable the keypad tones… why would you need a notification when you press your phone key?
  7. Drain your batteries … use up all the charge in your battery and then charge it. It would help you maintain your battery for a long time.
  8. And if you are on roaming, turn off your cellphone. The charge is eaten up when you are travelling across cities and your phone keeps on searching for cell sites. If you are listening to music on your cellphone, switch to airplane mode in that case.

These are some steps that i follow… and there may be a few more.. will update if I come across them.

Ever thought ??????

What make the sky blue (may be coz,  the atoms of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere separate the suns white light into its many colors, and scatter them throughout the atmosphere. The wavelength of the blue light scatters better than the rest, predominates over the other colors in the light spectrum, and makes the sky appear blue to us )…. or what makes the water wet ? ( may be coz of its nature 🙂 ) … Or why doesn’t 2 and 2 add up to 5 ( oops.. m too poor in math, I guess!) …. Anyways… Have you ever thought about it? … If not think about that now!! :)… this is how the lyrics of this wonderful song go… rocking lyrics by dad (Javed Akhtar ) and suprb vocals by son (Farhan Akhtar).

The movie rocks on and so does the songs…. ( I wish they could have had a better recording quality, i guess all the songs were recorded live and then they mastered it, it went wrong here and the Shankar Ehsaan Loy engineers are not masters in recording that way, they are more used to their Apple machines and Logic Pro format).

Jason West should be applauded for his amazing cinematography, he captured the songs as if it is a real concert, by loosing on focus here and there. The script has a Dil Chahta Hai hangover ( friends ego clashes and then re-union ), though ‘magik’ is the medium here for re-union. Great direction by newbie Abhishek Kapoor and finally Arjun Rampal got a chance to ‘act’ it seems and Farhan  – the all rounder, stands out.

Movies like Rock On proves that quality cinema still exist in India or rather in bollywood ( Have seen quality movies in other languages !), and bollywood is not just about Jab we metz and Sing is Kingz….

Farhan – Rock on man!!
